elle révèlera une femme admirable : amandine poinsot (ma grand-mère paternelle). brillante et courageuse, dotée d’un caractère bien trempé, amandine suppléera son mari (stéphane) mobilisé comme la plupart des vignerons, et assurera ainsi la pérennité du domaine. the first world war unfortunately broke out then. the war allowed amandine poinsot (my grand-mother on my father’s side) to reveal her talent. her husband stéphane being sent away to the front- like most of the wine-growers at the time -amandine managed to save the estate thanks to her strong personality, courage and hard work. ses deux fils, joseph et gabriel (respectivement mon oncle et mon père) reprendront le flambeau, en subissant à leur tour les vicissitudes de la seconde guerre mondiale… her two sons, joseph and gabriel –respectively my uncle and my father- took over the domaine after her as the second world war inflected its vagaries upon them.... joseph mobilisé puis prisonnier de guerre pendant 5 longues années, gabriel contraint à l’âge de 14 ans de dresser des bœufs pour labourer les champs (nos chevaux avaient été réquisitionnés)… joseph was then called up and made war prisonner for 5 years while gabriel –at the age of fourteen- had to learn how to train oxes in order to plough the vine plots (our horses had been requisitionned). ces heures noires passées, ils auront à cœur de reconstituer le domaine de leur bisaïeul. patiemment et laborieusement, ils achèteront, échangeront, défricheront, planteront des lopins de terre afin de redonner au domaine sa vocation et sa culture de prédilection : la vigne ! those hard times over, both of them put all their energy and heart into rebuilding their grand-father’s domaine. with patience and hard work, they bought, exchanged, cleared away plots in order to give the domaine its favourite vocation and culture back: the vines! c’est au cours des années 80-90, que mon frère stéphane et moi, associés à notre père dans la cadre de la sce du domaine demangeot gabriel et fils, impulserons le domaine familial. pas moins de 14 années seront nécessaires à la plantation du coteau remembré par joseph et gabriel, conjuguée à l’acquisition et la location de vignes, afin que notre domaine atteigne sa taille actuelle. in the 80’s and the 90’s, my father (partner in the business), my brother stéphane and myself gave a new impulse to the family estate. not less than 14 years were needed to plant the vines on the hillside which had been regrouped by joseph and gabriel. in the meantime, we also bought and rented new vineyards in order to reach the size of the current estate. notre domaine aujourd’hui est dirigé par maryline et jean-luc demangeot maryline demangeot (née pommey) issue d’une famille réputée de charcutier-traiteur dijonnaise, maryline n’a jamais eu « les deux pieds dans le même sabot » ! dès son adolescence, elle aide ses parents dans leur activité et prend des initiatives. baccalauréat de secrétariat en poche, elle trouve rapidement un emploi et quelques années plus tard occupe le poste de secrétaire de direction dans une entreprise internationale. aux vendanges 1993, deux ans après notre rencontre, et compte tenu du développement de notre domaine, maryline rejoint l’exploitation familiale. depuis cette date, sa polyvalence et son dynamisme contribuent au bon fonctionnement et à la notoriété du domaine demangeot . maryline demangeot (maiden name : pommey.) daughter of a well-known butcher and caterer in dijon, maryline has always showed a lot of dynamism. as a teenager, she helped her parents in their business and always took initiatives. graduated from a secretarial college, she quickly managed to get herself a job and a few years later became senior secretary with an international firm. during the harvesting in 1993, two years after we had met, she joined the family business. since then, her dynamism and numerous skills have contributed greatly to the development of the business. jean-luc demangeot bourguignon par mon père, parisien par ma mère, j’ai hérité tout naturellement dès ma naissance de la passion des vignes et des villes ! un don qui me permet d’arpenter coteaux et avenues avec la même aisance (et le même plaisir !) tout au long de l’année. très jeunes, mon frère stéphane et moi, accompagnions notre oncle joseph et notre père dans les vignes : ramassage des crochets, « rognage » à la cisaille, puis apprentissage de la taille, autant de petits travaux qui petit à petit nous ont initiés au métier de la vigne et du vin. c’est pourquoi, tout naturellement et après avoir obtenu notre b.e.p.c, nous nous sommes orientés tous deux dans la filière viti-vinicole au lycée viticole de beaune. après trois années d’études, nous obtenions l’un et l’autre notre sésame pour l’installation à savoir notre brevet de technicien agricole « viti-oeno » : stéphane en 1979 et moi en 1981. en 1995, stéphane a décidé de quitter l’exploitation familiale. depuis cette date, j’occupe seul la gérance du domaine avec l’aide précieuse de mon épouse maryline et de mon père gabriel « retraité actif ». jean-luc demangeot burgundian from my father and parisian from my mother, i naturally inherited the passion for vines and towns. a gift which allows me to pace vineyards and avenues up and down with the same ease (and the same pleasure!) all year around. very young, my brother stéphane and myself were initiated by our uncle and our father to the tasks of wine-growing: collecting vine hooks, trimming vines with shears, learning how to prune were little tasks given to us to train us in the field. after graduating with professional diplomas (b.e.p.c.), we both naturally started our wine studies at the specialized technical college in beaune. after three years of wine studies, we both graduated with a diploma in wine-growing and wine-making (stéphane in 1979 and myself in 1981). stéphane decided to quit the family business in 1995. since then, i manage the estate on my own, with the valuable help from my wife maryline and my father gabriel (a typical example of an active retired man). précédent © demangeot 2004 - 2016 - accès privé -
